It's Friday night. My yard is manicured. My house is spotless. My paintings are on the walls. It's that time of the year. My annual open house. As I get older this annual event gets harder to do. But I would miss it and it certainly helps keep me active mentally and physically.

This painting was created for a magnet. I hope that you are "attracted" to it. This piece , actually, is not the finished piece. After living with what I thought was the "finished " piece for a while, I saw that it needed a little tweeking.
What might you do to tweek this work. Hey, no fair saying, "Start over!"

  1. I really like this as a resident of Ohio my whole life, it for some reason makes me think of Ohio State. Mr. Kitchen I also want you to know that as a former student (I had you in 1985) you made a difference in my life. I have now been teaching myself for 21 years and you were a teacher who made me want to teach, but I teach science even though I have always loved your paintings. Nice job conserving the white in this painting, something I was never very good at despite your efforts to help me with that skill.
